Our Matador Cheerleaders have been doing an excellent job this year, keeping up that Matador spirit and firing it up!
At the start of the second semester, the ladies from JV and Varsity competed in the 2012 Grossmont Union High School Distrct Cheer Competition. In the Varsity division, going up against three other schools in the district-El Cajon Valley, El Capitan, and Monte Vista- Our Varsity Cheerleaders placed 2nd, bringing home the trophy with smiles. Well done, ladies!
All three squads have been great sports year, cheering from sport to sport their entire season, all while keeping up with their academics. The girls are currently cheering on the basketball team as they dribble down the courts in Playoffs. Thank you for all you wonderful support and cheers, ladies!
The girls have all bonded well over the year, going through the hard times and the best times together, and learning new things about each other. They will be celebrating their competition victory and the hard work they have put in all year at their annual banquet next month. We wish you guys a wonderful rest of the year!
NOTE: Cheer tryouts for the 2012-2013 school year (subject to change) will be held March 21-23 in the dance room for both JV and Varsity. Check back for an update if dates change. Both ladies and gentlemen are welcome!
When we don't know the answer we look at the sides. When we are sad we look down. When we have done something wrong, we fear to look and we close our eyes. IT IS BETTER TO LOOK UP! The game is over, the season is done, smiles, memories, tears are left behind. There is no reason for us to look down. IT IS BETTER TO LOOK UP. There is still a long way ful of opportunities. Thanks to all the basketball players, coach and staff for this wonderful season that will remain in our memories long after we have graduated.
